A few swans inhabit the pond in our neighborhood park. They're huge birds which made me wonder about the history of eating them. Ever handy Internet reports, that in the UK, swans were hunted to near extinction and are now protected by the Queen. This protection includes the caveat that Queen may eat one if she chooses.
